Clarinets branded with the words ‘Martin Freres 200' were manufactured to mark the bicentennial of the Martin family as instrument makers. The family crafted clarinets, oboes, flutes and other wind instruments beginning in the year 1740. Martin Freres became an international brand in 1840.
No records were kept to track the number of units manufactured. However, we believe this to be a small run of production in the early 1940's prior to the invasion of France during WWII.
The clarinet is an entry-level professional Bb clarinet.
